Today, www.nigeriansphere.com sets sail into the innovative terrain of web publishing to radically pursue developmental journalism with the special interest of entrenching good governance in Nigeria.
This is neither the first web publication nor would it be the last, but our new publication would aspire to be different in design, content and character. We would ensure we stick religiously by ethics that rule the noble journalism profession. While promising to publish responsibly with vision and creativity with the aim of stimulating national discourse; we would not hesitate to step on toes, where necessary, and at the same time ensure that the aggrieved have a right to fair hearing.
We have steadfastly chosen this already threaded path (web publishing) because we are assuredly convinced that this is the way to proceed. In fact, this is the global direction. We would strive to use this platform to initiate positive changes in the way we do things in our country (Nigeria). To achieve this, we would highlight (international) best practices; set parameters for accountability, transparency and equally call for a review of obnoxious and unpopular laws that are aimed at delivering justice with impunity. Most importantly, we would strive to put the collective interest of our (Nigerians) people on the front burners of each and every policy thrust of the Federal Government. Unlike in the past, it would truly be a new dawn and no longer business as usual. As for the oppressed Nigerian either at home or in The Diaspora and, who wants to be heard: this is your window of opportunity, exploit it.
